Men aged between 18 and 25 are more likely to be attacked than anyone else in society.
Remember that even the most macho martial arts teach that it's better to talk your way out of a dangerous situation - using violence is the last resort.
Be prepared:
- Meeting aggression with aggression leads to confrontation - try to stay calm and talk your way out of a situation;
- Look confident but not aggressive;
- Be aware of your surroundings and the potential hazards.
Avoid putting yourself at risk:
- Let someone know where you are going and when you will be back;
- Avoid using unlit or isolated cash machines;
- Don't ignore your instincts if you sense trouble - act straight away.
