Question

If I get a credit card but don't use it in the first month will I be charged anything?

Answer

Some credit cards charge a fee regardless of whether you use them, so check the terms and conditions carefully before applying.

Other issues to consider when applying for a credit card include the rates of interest payable, charges for cash withdrawals, and protection and insurance offered for goods bought with the card.

Sites like USwitch offer comparisons between different credit cards so that you can decide which one suits you best.
