Do guys like shaved vaginas more than hairy ones? And if I want to shave, is there any way of avoiding irritation and rapid re-growth of hair?

Like many things, what men think of pubic hair on a woman is down to personal preference. Some men like lots of hair and some, no hair at all. Some women find it more attractive to shave and feel it's fresher, while others find that natural is best.
Removing your own pubic hair is a matter of personal choice and there's no right or wrong, so you shouldn't feel pressurised into shaving your pubes just because you feel guys might prefer it. If you're happy with the way you look, then that's what counts. If a guy really cares about you, he's unlikely to be put off by your preferred pubic styling.
If you do decide to shave then it is worth remembering that this is a very delicate area, so take care not to cut yourself. Use a fresh razor, apply shaving lotion, and moisturise well afterwards. Shaving will not prevent rapid re-growth, so you'll have to keep shaving regularly to retain a smooth appearance.
Other alternatives include electrolysis, waxing and laser treatments. All have their advantages and disadvantages, and you should try to find one solution that suits you best. A good beautician should be able to talk to you about possible treatments.
