Tan-go

Question

I recently applied some fake tan and it looks terrible. I desperately want to get it off my skin. Please help me. I dont know what to do.

Answer

According to iVillage.com, there are products on the market that claim to remove fake tan, but they suggest avoiding the use of these products and recommend a good scrub with a moisturising bodywash.

There are various tips on how to remove your tan safely. These depend on where on your body the tan is, as there are different ways of removing it from different parts of your body.

One method is using toothpaste with a little bit of water. By gently working the mixture into the tanned area, you should notice that the fake tan is removed. We can't say for certain if this method will work for you, or if it will cause a reaction. Whatever method you choose to use, it would be advisable to test it on a small area of skin, before applying to the rest of your body.

If you have any concerns about the removal of fake tan, you should consult an expert. A local beauty salon may be able to offer some practical advice and guidance.

If you do decide to use fake tan again in the future, it's worth remembering that while there are a number of benefits to having a fake tan, there are also dangers to be aware of. There are steps that you should take when applying, to ensure you end up with a tan you're happy with.
