Breast blemishes

Question

A few years ago I started getting spots around my cleavage. Since then I've tried using all the creams and pills the doctor has prescribed but nothing seems to help. Is there anything you can suggest?

Answer

Dealing with spots can be really difficult and, from what you've said, your doctor seems to have diagnosed you with acne.

As you probably know, the skin between the breasts is quite sensitive.  It's worth keeping in mind that things like washing powder, perfume or sweat can sometimes make the situation worse, while wearing cotton clothing (rather than synthetic fibres) can help, because it allows your skin to breathe.

You might want to see your local doctor (GP) again to discuss how ineffective the suggested treatments have been. If your doctor isn't able to help, you might want to consider seeing a dermatologist (someone who specialises in skin conditions). The British Association of Dermatologists can help you find details of dermatologists practising in your area. They also have information about acne which you may find interesting.
