Question

What will happen if I take Ritalin and smoke weed?

Answer

It is never really a good idea to mix drugs. This is because you don't know how they might interact. Using Ritalin and weed together really isn't the best thing to do for a number of reasons.

Weed affects people differently. You might know some people who get really relaxed or hyper when they use it. Generally, weed has a sedative effect and can slow down your body's functions. Ritalin is made up of a drug similar to amphetamines and it works by stimulating a part of the brain.

Since the weed relaxes and the Ritalin stimulates, it may be that the weed will weaken the effect of the Ritalin or vice versa. If you have been prescribed Ritalin it is best to seek advice from your local doctor (GP) before you take any other medication.

If you would like to talk to someone about drugs, contact Frank for free and confidential advice and information. They will be able to give you information about local support services in your area if you would like to see someone face-to-face.
