Cannabis confusion

Question

I've been smoking weed for a couple of years now but I'm confused by the recent reclassification of cannabis. Is it legal now?

Answer

Cannabis laws have changed recently, and it has been reclassified. It is now a Class B drug so it remains illegal to sell, possess, or allow the use of cannabis in your own home, but the police can deal with it, at their discretion, with a caution.

In addition, especially if you've been taking it for a while now, you might want to find out more about the effects and risks of taking cannabis. Cannabis comes in different forms and is taken different ways and each of these can lead to a range in intensity of effects and risks.

If you would like to have a chat with someone about legal issues and how to keep safe with your cannabis use you can call Frank on 0800 776600. There are also local services you can visit if you'd like to talk to someone face-to-face. These services are free and confidential and can give you advice and information about keeping safe.
