C Funk
C Funk moderates health and wellbeing and work and study as well as mucking in with the editorial team to help create all the new content on TheSite.org.
What's been your most memorable experience as a moderator?
This would probably have to be the first time I ever looked at the discussion boards. It was like opening up a wardrobe and finding Narnia. I was half expecting Aslan to pop by and say hello. It's a completely different world in there.
Do you ever have any difficulty balancing TheSite.org's editorial line with your own personal beliefs, how do you deal with this?
Personal beliefs should be personal and shouldn't affect your work or how you interact with other people.
What do you do other than moderating?
I work as an editorial assistant on the editorial team helping to create and update all the content on TheSite.org.
If you had to be locked in a lift with another person who would it be and why?
I could give you a list of beautiful women the size of the Magna Carta that I'd love to be locked in a lift with, but I'm going to say Larry David. He's an absolute comic genius and could talk shit to me for hours about absolutely nothing. Actually can I change my mind and say Gemma Atkinson.
If you could change peoples' opinions on one subject, what would it be and why?
That all students are lazy. This is completely untrue and I hate it when my non university friends complain about how little work students do. When I was a student I would always get out of bed on time everyday at midday and watch Jeremy Kyle, go to my lectures for an hour, get home, have a sleep and then practice my pro evolution soccer skills.
I've discovered loads of amazing artists and films that have changed my life
Do you learn from the posters' experiences?
Without a doubt. There's a massive amount of experience on the boards and I would be a complete muppet if I thought I knew everything they did. I really do learn something new every time I look on the boards.
If you could set up one new forum what would it be?
A forum on forums.
How does being a moderator fit with your career aims, if at all?
It doesn't necessarily fit in with my career aims, but it undoubtedly opens my eyes to stories and experiences that will help me in the future.
What's your favourite thread?
The threads on what music you're listening to right now or the last movie that you watched. I've discovered loads of amazing artists and films that have changed my life because of this.
If I was... I'd be a... because....
If I was a tree I'd be a tree because I was a tree.
