Choosing a uni

From fit blokes to reputable courses, what are the most important factors for students choosing a university?

Zelda

Zelda, 17 The most important factor for me is for the uni to have a good record of results in whatever subject I want to do.

Bethan

Bethan, 16 Good-looking blokes and a decent nightlife are important - definitely. I'm a party person. Forget the course, I want to go to a university where I can have fun.

Utim

Utim, 18 The university would need to stand out and appeal to me in some way. If I'm going to get the most from uni life it helps to know the department has the best equipment, teachers and resources.

Rosie

Rosie, 16 The uni would need a good social scene with lots of student activities to get involved with, including going to watch some decent bands. Have top-up fees affected your decision to go to uni? If I don't get parental backing then I won't go to uni. With no help, it'd be inevitable that I'd get into debt.

Aljosha

Aljosha, 19 The environment around the university is very important to me. I chose Brighton because it's a seaside town and also because I know some people who will be going there.

Jessie

Jessie, 16 Good sport and leisure facilities are what will count for me. I don't like to feel imprisoned, so lots of green, open spaces would be nice too. Have top-up fees affected your decision to go to uni? They've already put me off. Unless the system changes I'm not setting my sights on university.

Elena

Elena, 17 It's not important to me whether the uni is in a big city or a seaside town, as long as it has a decent nightlife.

Catherine

Catherine, 17 I'm only looking at universities that are outside London, as I want to know what life is like in another party of the country. It would be quite important for me to live in university halls.

Zutlu

Zutlu, 18 I look out for where the college is located and how it's designed. There needs to be a relaxed atmosphere too.

Matti

Matti, 21 It was important for me that the drama course for the university I chose taught a variety of acting styles, so I had the best chance of securing an acting job when I came out.
