42nd Street
Founded in 1980, 42nd Street works with young people 11-25 who are under stress or experiencing mental health problems.
We are based in Manchester and work with young people in Manchester, Salford & Trafford. Experienced staff offer support around a wide range of issues that affect young people including family problems, abuse, bullying, self-harm, depression, panic attacks, isolation etc.
We provide individual support, counselling, groups and drop-ins with a focus on providing young people with support around the issues that are causing them stress. In addition we offer a range of opportunities designed to give young people the chance to develop their skills and confidence including a volunteer programme.
We believe in challenging the stigma associated with mental health problems and deliver training, undertake research and publish books on issues like self harm. We are also committed to giving young people a voice in the services they receive.
