16-25 General Music Group Volunteer

Core Music Youth is looking for volunteers to take part in a wide variety of activities. Things such as photography, website design, publicity, admin (meeting minutes, secretarial duties etc). Core Youth is a Tynedale based group (meeting place is Hexham) that do various music related projects. Currently were in the first phases of producing a compilation album of bands from around the region that we hope to be able to distribute when made. No music experience is needed! Let us know your skills and interests and we will try to find something to suit you.

The vinvolved team Sheffield are supporting SYEDA to help them to find volunteers age 16-25Virtual volunteering means volunteer tasks completed, in whole or in part, via the Internet and a home or work computer. It's also known as online volunteering, cyber service, online mentoring and various other names. Virtual volunteering allows Syeda to expand the benefits of our volunteer programs, by allowing for more volunteers to participate, and by utilising volunteers in new areas.Many people actively search for volunteer opportunities they can complete via home or work computers, because of time constraints, personal preference, a disability or a home-based obligation that prevents them from volunteering on-site. Virtual volunteering allows anyone to contribute time and expertise to Syeda.Duties: Duties will be discussed and agreed with each individual volunteer.Examples of activities for Virtual Volunteers:Conducting online research: finding information to use in a Syeda's upcoming grant application or newsletter, gathering information on a particular government program or legislation that could affect Syeda's clients, gathering web site addresses of similarly-focused organisations.Translating a document or promotional material into another languageArticle writing Designing Syeda's newsletter or brochure, or editing/proof reading Syeda's publications or proposalsResearching and writing articles for brochures, newsletters, web site

Ushers

DanceEast

DanceEast brings world-class dance to the East of England. We are looking for ushers for a number of upcoming performances. Volunteers would be briefed about the evenings performance and then asked to greet guests, check tickets, sell programmes and answer general questions before the performance and during the interval. DanceEast will be presenting an electic programme of performances throughout the year, widening the experience of audiences and bringing a new and invigorated audience to dance. Ushers will be asked to arrive by 6.30pm, to stay until after the interval or end of performance around 9.30 - 10.00pm.You could commit to one off performances or be part of a regular volunteer usher team. African Revival

African Revival works with marginalised communities in East and Southern Africa. Our aim is simple - to equip Africans with the skills and resources they need to lift themselves out of poverty. Our focus is on education and sustainable livelihoods projects - building schools, teaching teachers, providing access to clean and safe water, and training local people to set-up and manage their own small income-generating.A great opportunity for a motivated and energetic individual to get involved with a local charity providing aid and assistance to marginalised communities in East and Southern Africa. The ideal candidate will be outgoing and approachable, have a strong interest in International Development, preferably educated to A-level, and have excellent IT and communication skills. The purpose of the Fundraising Support Superstar is to provide creative and administrative support to the Fundraising Team - building up and reinforcing links with local schools, universities, and businesses; masterminding new fundraising events and ideas; and using your creative spark to design fundraising packs and initiatives to recruit new supporters and raise the profile of African Revival in the local community through a range of multi-media.With the guidance and support of the Fundraising Team, the role will involve a variety of tasks - researching new fundraising avenues on the internet, telephoning, writing to and visiting local schools and businesses, updating supporter information on the African Revival Database and using it to send out target mailings, designing posters and fundraising packs to promote African Revival, and helping out at our local events. As office space is limited at African Revival, there is an opportunity to undertake much of this work from home (providing you have internet access), and then pop into the AR office once a week to have a brief progress meeting with the fundraising team.
