Love the web? Want to be part of an exciting online project? Our new website called Lifetracks is all about helping young people make decisions about their work, training and study options. We want our site to inspire and inform young people as well as supporting them through some of the biggest decisions they'll ever make. We're looking for people aged 13-25 to help us make the new website the best work, learning and skills resource on the web. It's a great opportunity to learn more about how websites are developed over time and to make sure that the site meets the needs of the people who will use it.You will be invited to take part in an exclusive online community to discuss and debate ideas that will directly shape the content and functionality of the website. Work is already underway and we need your support through testing, creating content and providing ongoing feedback on its' progress. This is a virtual volunteering role but there will be opportunities to take part in offline meetings and groups as the project progresses.

Could you make props and toys to help educate young people about birds and the environment?Other ways you could helpOther ways you could help include distributing leaflets or putting out collecting tins to help us raise funds and recruit new members. As a sufferer of mental health problems, I wanted to do something useful for others and to help build my confidence. I started by entering all the regions press clippings onto a spreadsheet and analysing the information. I then helped to get the south-west region online. I learnt so much. There is so much more to RSPB work than meets the eye. Alison Terry, media volunteer for the RSPBs South West Regional Office

Student/Undergraduate Volunteer
MERU (Medical Engineering Resource Unit)
We often utilise the skills of design & engineering undergraduates to develop the number of concepts that Meru have 'lying in wait'. Often Meru has great ideas for products but we don't have the time or resources to take on the amount of market research to secure funding for development.Setting these projects as final year design briefs to conscientious university students will enable Meru to take leaps forward in both the marker research and the concept development stages of bringing a product to the marketplace. In return the student will gain valuable experience in working on a live brief for a client as well as a huge sense of personal achievement.

Research Volunteer
MERU (Medical Engineering Resource Unit)
Many of our projects require a good degree of research being completed before we can begin designing. For example, research into materials and parts or research to check out whether there are any duplicate products available. This is a time-consuming exercise and it would be great if we could ask volunteers to take some of this on.
