CHUF funds provide equipment, facilities and aftercare for the Regional Children's Heart Unit and the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.Help is needed in the CHUF office at the Freeman Hospital for approximately 1-2 hours per week, preferably on a Tuesday or a Thursday morning. We need support with helping with our banking procedure. It is counting cash and adding up cheque amounts and writing them on a sheet.

The work of the branch membership officer is to maintain and develop the local membership scheme. Local membership is a great source of income and support for the branch. As membership officer you can really have a role in ensuring long term success of the branch.For both new and existing branches you can help set up or increase a membership scheme by contacting local supporters, producing leaflets or handouts for use at local events, or by any other means as you see fit! Members usually get a regular newsletter but subscriptions need renewing annually and cheques/payments need managing on an ongoing basis.This is a fantastic admin and people based role where your valuable results are clearly visible and measurable!As with all our roles, you'll get lots of support. Existing branch members will offer their help and the National Cat Centre is always just a phone call away.

Lighthouse Mentors are looking for a volunteer to assist with running and developing this mentoring scheme for prisoners coming to the end of their sentence. There are a variety of tasks a volunteer could take responsibility for, and it is possible that these tasks may best be shared between more than one volunteer, with different skills and interests.Tasks include:Facilitating group meetings of the mentors and acting as a mentor to the mentors, helping them to support each other. There are five mentors who meet on a monthly basis.Developing governance documents for the group and its trustees.Recruiting trustees.Investigating the benefits of charity registration, and possibly registering the group as a charity.Keeping in contact with other relevant groups.Completing funding applications

The Youth Action Team is a group made up of young volunteers aged 16-25 who help develop, influence and support the vinvolved teams activity in Coventry. We are now launching a new role Virtual YAT.vinvolved rely heavily on the important input that young people give them through their YAT roles. However, not everyone can commit to attending all the meetings required for many of the roles. The Virtual YAT role will allow you to have your say and be consulted on a range of ideas and activities presented by the vinvolved team. This could involve you identifying a community issue and highlighting what activities you want locally to tackle the issues. The YAT also have a budget so you could have your say on how that budget is spent to develop youth volunteering in Coventry.The beauty of this role is that its all virtual, you may be required to respond to emails or online survey without even leaving your bedroom and you can still work toward gaining your national v awards and the many incentives vinvolved Coventry offer their young volunteers.
