Core Youth is a Tynedale based group (meeting place is Hexham) that do various music related projects. Currently were in the first phases of producing a compilation album of bands from around the region that we hope to be able to distribute when made. No music experience is needed! The vinvolved team Sheffield are supporting SYEDA to help them to find volunteers age 16-25Virtual volunteering means volunteer tasks completed, in whole or in part, via the Internet and a home or work computer. It's also known as online volunteering, cyber service, online mentoring and various other names. Virtual volunteering allows Syeda to expand the benefits of our volunteer programs, by allowing for more volunteers to participate, and by utilising volunteers in new areas.Many people actively search for volunteer opportunities they can complete via home or work computers, because of time constraints, personal preference, a disability or a home-based obligation that prevents them from volunteering on-site. Virtual volunteering allows anyone to contribute time and expertise to Syeda.Duties: Duties will be discussed and agreed with each individual volunteer.Examples of activities for Virtual Volunteers:Conducting online research: finding information to use in a Syeda's upcoming grant application or newsletter, gathering information on a particular government program or legislation that could affect Syeda's clients, gathering web site addresses of similarly-focused organisations.Translating a document or promotional material into another languageArticle writing Designing Syeda's newsletter or brochure, or editing/proof reading Syeda's publications or proposalsResearching and writing articles for brochures, newsletters, web site

The aim of the Community Corporate Ambassador is to promote awareness of the work of Save the Children and the issues that we are engaged with, and to raise funds for our work, within the local corporate community.The time commitment is approximately 2 days a week, home based, and could include evening and weekend commitments.Raising awareness of our work with corporates could be at any level, from promoting local events to initiating sponsorship relationships. This can be achieved at business breakfast/lunch meetings, at business seminars within your local community, al local chamber meetings, or meetings with individual companies, resulting in people wanting to get involved in volunteering or fundraising for Save the Children at a later date.Responsibilities:Recruit and engage local business to support Save the Children.Promote local events to the corporates within the local community.Take responsibility for a corporate income budge for the area.Record and monitor the activities of business contacts.Create links with the local shops (if applicable) and volunteer supporter groups within your community.Ensure any new information and materials that you receive from Save the Children, are distributed throughout your corporate network.Be involved to share your experiences at quarterly team meetings.

You will be assisting us with various design projects such as creating graphics for posters and events. In addition, there are opportunities to create graphics for directories, signage for events and possibly layouts for advertisements in trade magazines and professional journals.This position is flexible and the amount of time will depend on the specific project, as well as when you are available to volunteer. We have a number of contracts that allow us to work with homeless people all across London. We help organise a wide range of activities, volunteering, training, work placements, work trials, mock interviews, college courses etc. You will be part of a team that makes a real difference in people lives.Main Tasks: To compile registration packs To send off and monitor all cheque requests to Head Office To contact London based colleges and universities to obtain prospectuses To photocopy client registration forms To update filing system on a regular basis To add CV's to all client files To update and maintain promotion resources General administrative tasksAlthough it is useful if you have had experience, all the tasks could be taught on site. This is a work experience role. We would particularly welcome applications from people who have experience of homelessness. We are very experienced in supporting people into work.
