Greedy landlords

Most of us have had one at one time or another - a greedy landlord who wants to take far more of your deposit than is needed.

I've been lucky so far, my landlords have all been pretty good - I even had one who gave me £150 extra because I 'left the place so tidy' and he loved my gardening skills - basically consisting of me buying four plants and shoving them in the soil! And trust me, I didn't paint the whole of upstairs out of a desire to help him sell his house on when I left - it was originally bright purple and was giving me a headache (and took three coats of white paint to get rid of!)

Unfortunately, there are many other people who are not so lucky with their landlords - Angus included. He told me all about how his landlord wanted to keep all of the deposit from him and his two housemates to pay for redecoration, which had never been done. They ended up in the small claims court and here's what happened...
