As well as medication, there are lots of talking treatments for mental health problems such as depression and anxiety.
Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT)
CBT centres on helping you modify unhelpful or destructive patterns of behaviour. You will often be asked to keep a diary of your thoughts, actions and feelings. CBT is normally practiced by psychologists, and is most often offered in the form of a series of weekly sessions for a period of eight to 12 weeks.
