Coping with embarrassment
1 2
Done something that's got you blushing? Take your pick from the following ways to deal with whatever's making you cringe.
Ignore it
Usually these things feel worse than they look, and by ignoring it you can reduce the obvious signs that you are embarrassed such as blushing and sweating. Denial ("that didn't happen, that's my body double having a night out on the town and trying to make some cash from the tabloids"); disguise (dye your hair, grow a beard, wear a paper bag over your head); and/or hibernation (sleep for a few weeks/months until it's all gone away) can all help.
Laugh it off
"So I did something stupid, what's new? I know it was hilarious, and so kind of you to send those photos to my boss. Ha ha bloody ha." Well it might work, humour can deflect embarrassment and turn the situation into a funny, bonding one, rather than total humiliation. However one word of warning for those of you with a short temper; avoid this one or you may end up having violent urges.
