Some good news


James and Skye

James has finally had a breakthrough that he can't wait to share.

Having a daughter is strange. There isn't a single minute in the day when I don't think about her. My responsibilities have changed so much; I am now responsible for a person, a living breathing person, and I can't describe how that feels.

Anyhow, the last few weeks have been pretty hectic. Skye has just turned three months and it's hard to believe that three months have already passed. My family still want nothing to do with her, which hurts. I don't really know what their reasons are they just refuse to talk to me about the fact that I am a father. Maybe one day they'll come round but then again maybe not, but I really hope they do. I still haven't got a job, which means I'm gonna have a real hard time with Christmas coming up I'll have to somehow scrape together some money to get Skye some presents.

I don't get to see Skye much; usually about two or three times a week for a couple of hours at a time if I'm lucky, but her mum's always there too - I guess it's better than some guys get. On the good side I finally had a breakthrough with her mum this week - she says she'll let me take Skye for a day, all on my own, which is great. I'm so nervous about it - I don't know when it's going to happen yet, but I'm really hoping it will be this week. Although I'm really looking forward to it, I have no idea what I'll do, as I can only have her at my house until 3pm (when my mum gets home) so I'll have to find someplace to take her from 3-7pm.

I saw Skye yesterday and she's as cute as ever. She's such a bonny wee girl; she giggles more and more every time I see her and she's always happy. She's getting so big, it's amazing how fast she's grown, and she definitely has my eyes. It took a while for her eye colour to come out, but she definitely has my eyes, and everyone says she looks like me. I'm so proud of her; I'm gonna show her off and let her meet everyone when we get the day together. With a bit of luck I can tell you all about it in my next diary.
