A positive Christmas

James and Skye

James is 17 and lives in Dundee, Scotland. He has a baby daughter, Skye, who lives with her mum.
Entry: 3

James has just had the Christmas and New Year he was hoping for.

Well, here I am, despite all the worrying I've done since my last entry. Christmas and New Year have been hectic - on Christmas Eve I had to get some money so I could buy presents for Skye. Luckily, my parents gave me my present (which was money) at 4:15pm on Christmas Eve - problem was, all my local shops shut at 4pm on Christmas Eve. I was so stressed, but then I remembered there's an Early Learning Center in Debenhams, and I ended up spending exactly £101 in the five minutes before it shut. When I got home I had another fight with my mum because she didn't think I should've spend that much money on Skye. Ah well.

Christmas went well, I saw Skye three days in a row, and every second day since. She's starting to sit on her own now and she's found her voice, so she's always "saying" something. She's just making loads of noises but she can hold a conversation better than some adults I know.

Still no luck about getting on her birth certificate, and I haven't got to take her for that day out yet, but I'm pushing and asking every single day. Things are going better than before, though I'm not really sure why, I think my ex is just softening up a bit. I got a 'world's greatest daddy' mug from her for Christmas - I use it all the time and my dad hates it. Don't you just love families?

Anyway I have to go make arrangements for laters. I've got a date with a girl I met a while ago. We were just friends at first, but it turns out I 'like' her, and luckily the feeling's mutual!
